Searching for reviews of PK program at Paint Branch Elementary. Was the program challenging for your student? What was the schedule like? Quality staffing in early childhood grades? Any feedback would be helpful. Thank you!

My son attended Pre-K at a different PGCPS elementary. The standard of the curriculum was high and the staff was better qualified than those at the private pre-k we were looking at.
I expect that the curriculum and the staffing educational requirements are the same across PGCPS.
He had a great experience!

We were also at a different PGCPS PK (Greenbelt). It was a half day program with a highly qualified teacher and paraprofessional. There was a lot of creativity and also challenge. Kids are developing in such different ways at this age, I suspect all kids have growth opportunities in one area or another.

Different PGCPS PK program but the schedule was a hybrid of a normal preschool program and Kindergarten. More time for open play than K but they did go to specials (gym, library, art, music) like older kids and went to the cafeteria and had recess. School day was the same length as the rest of the kids. They did story time, sang songs, played with different building blocks, had a pretend kitchen, dress up clothing etc. They also did some structured learning about science and social studies.
Big plus for us is that they had services for his IEP.
His teacher had a masters in early childhood education and the paraprofessional had at least 20 years experience working with young children. Not sure of her formal qualifications.
