BOE - who are people voting for?

But, there aren't any problems. Didn't you get the memo?

You know the old saying, if you're not part of the solution...
Yes! No one should point out problems in MCPS. Keep everything hidden like the central office wants.

The Parent Coalition is a rw parent org, not a great source of good information.

Kind of like Moderately Montgomery both have agendas.

And while speaking out ie asking questions can be a good thing figuring out the source of the information is coming from is also important.

They're not a "rw parent org", they're one crank whose children haven't been in MCPS for years.

Sharif Hidayat.

I want SROs back in school.

My son was present when Dre was shot at Magruder.

There was a mass shooting threat here this week.

There are guns in schools every day.

There are gang affiliated kids.

These kids have beefs with one another.

That's just a recipe for disaster.

What other qualifications does he have?

None zero.

I'm a parent, I did my research, I voted for her.

Why was her profession hidden?

Why are you suddenly asking these "When did you stop kicking your dog" questions? I guess someone is suddenly worried that Rita Montoya might win.

She will win. Apple Ballot wants her. The question stands, why is her profession being hidden from voters?

Literally not hidden. She talks about it openly. It's even on her candidate web page:

"In my career, I developed:

[other items]; and

a U.S.-based, international, Black-owned cannabis and hemp company..."

You are the only one trying to make it seem like a cover-up.

It is not on her Apple Ballot flyer.

You mean this one?

https://www.mceanea.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2024/04/montoya.jpg

How terrible that they don't put every single thing about this candidate on their limited-space flyers! Certainly, they did for the other candidates they decided to support:

https://www.mceanea.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2024/04/zimmerman.png

https://www.mceanea.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2024/04/stewart.jpg

Seriously, what planet do you live on?

Zimmerman mentions her profession and employment in the flyer and Laura Stewart is unemployed so obviously wouldn’t/can’t mention her employment.

The mailer, just received, has two brief sentences for each candidate. The first indicates education-related aspects and the second indicates their aims.

If you're looking for them to spend more of those ~30 total words to say, "developed a U.S.-based, international, Black-owned cannabis and hemp company," (openly stated on her campaign website, and not very much an education-related aspect) instead of "a nonprofit advisor" (which is experience that would be related to BOE work), then I ask, again,

What planet do you live on?

Nobody has qualifications. The current BOE and most of the past ones are just engaging in their little social circles, surrounding themselves with people who think exactly like them. They love spouting off the slogans we love to hear. It's a feel good, do nothing culture. There is no oversight. There is no backbone. Most teachers hate the union and don't feel it represents them. But the union doesn't care either. They all hang out, feeling their power, boosting their egos, all the while kids are getting hurt and threatened daily. Go ask someone about all the lists at schools of the kids who require security escorts at all times because they are known to present an immediate danger to others. Ask about them in the middle schools especially.

But you all keep electing people who spout off the pablum that makes everyone "feel" good, rather than actually "doing" good.

Yes, there needs to be minimum qualifications.

Mandel has none. Being on a BOE means working with others. Given her own words, she does not play nice with others, ie can not work with others her words. Next up we have Mandel treating other humans horrifically, how will that translate to working on a BOE when given she screams mostly nothing will get done. Yes, this is factual by her own words and videos on social media. They are there for all to see and read. Not hard to find. And she's currently suing MCPS/BOE with outside funds Stephen Miller Mr Facist nazi lover himself is funding that lawsuit. It will be dismissed it's utter garbage.

Where exactly does she find the time to home-school/stay at home parent six kids, ages approximately nine to newborn, while writing — or “writing” — books, appearing on Fox, getting into Twitter fights, etc. etc. etc? No help LOL

Mandel’s campaign is part of a broader push by conservative culture warriors to take over school boards and decide what children can be taught. Nationally, the fight has been led by an organization called Moms for Liberty; Mandel attended its annual summit last summer

"dibs on horny teens" is not a qualification for any BOE.

Hidayat supporter here too- we need to send a strong signal that more is needed to keep our kids safe.

I received a campaign ad in the mail from MSEA supporting several candidates that said to "stand up to extremists" and implied that the candidates will not rewrite history of civil rights and racial discrimination. I was not aware that in Montgomery County such extremists were running for school board. Honestly as a Democrat I was highly put off by the ad. It's trying to rile up a base over a non-issue in the bluest of blue counties instead of taking serious positions on pressing issues.

What company? Name it. Anything she has been connected to is defunct.

Yes Moms4Liberty RW candidates are running.

Mandel
Diaz

Sharif Hidayat Mr Conservative rw.

None are fit for any BOE position.

If you vote for Mandel it's a vote for "dibs on horny teens", racism, bigotry, hate, and the ultimate dumbing down of education.

Keep Moms4liberty out of MCPS.

Sorry Montoya's company didn't work out. Here is reference to her work with cannibas:

Owner of chingona consulting, Rita is now actively working to bringing her knowledge, patient experience and professional training to the Maryland cannabis industry and other emerging markets. She serves on the Tea Pad Advisory Board (a sister company of CannabizMD,) with that focus and drive. Her patient story underscores how one’s being a medical cannabis patient in no way compromises professional achievement and success.

Then you haven't been paying attention, because yes they actually are running for school board in Montgomery County, and yes it actually is a serious issue.
