Do you know of anyone (or any store) where they'll run D&D games (or other roleplaying games) for younger kids, in-person? Paid is OK, doesn't need to be free.
I know that there are some groups on Outschool. But I explicitly want in-person, so my child can socialize in-person. Labyrinth DC has games for kids, but they are 10+ and online, and I have an elementary schooler. (And yes, I know that I could DM myself. I don't want to.) Thanks. |
My son is 9 and DMs a game. It is chaotic and fun and a parent needs to sit near by to help get things back on track from time to time.
That said, finding a kid who is confident enough with the rules to DM and willing to take the time to do everything you need to do to DM is probably challenging. We did a game where I DMed for the kids and that worked pretty well. |
Woodridge library is having free weekly D&D sessions! I assume other locations as well. Think it’s six and up. |
If he has friends who are also interested, we've had a good experience with this company: https://www.gamesunbound.com/ |
Looking for the same as OP, but is now 2024. Any updates? |
Those folks (Alternate Games) don't look to have updated their website or social media since 2021. Are they even in business any more?

OP from two years ago replying:
My kid has been having a blast playing weekly on Outschool, and I personally DM an in-person game for them and their friends every once in a while. No luck finding a regular in-person game, and I am still looking. Labyrinth (the game store) would be an option, but their games are almost always sold out well in advance. |
