Does anyone have experience with the Project Lead the Way Program?

My daughter was accepted into the Project Lead the Way at Charles Flowers High school? Does anyone have experience with the program in general or at Flowers high school?

Congrats to your daughter. Our MCPS high school offers PLTW. I don't have direct experience, but students in the program speak highly of it. Students start in either 8th or 9th grade.

I reached out to the county to get more information about this program, specifically the Northwestern HS site. The initial person I reached out to forwarded my email to someone else, who never responded. This was my general experience at all the specialty programs in PG - we looked at Science and Tech at ERHS, the Aerospace and Aviation program at DuVal, and PLTW at NW. All seemed like potentially good programs, but the county is not well organized and is overwhelmed. I have heard really good things about PLTW overall. I would have loved to find a way for my kid to go to public school, but was worried they would be lost in such a big system and we would be fighting inefficiency and bureaucracy for four years, and ended up going with a private.

My son is a sophomore in the program at a different school. He is really enjoying it and likes the hands on work (building/designing) during his classes.

My senior at River Hill is completing the 5 class program and loved it. He is planning on majoring in engineering next year.
