Did the texture of your hair change with pregnancy?

Did your hair texture change when you had your first child? Has it changed back?!

I look as though I'm growing out a curly-perm and feel utterly ridiculous. DS is just under a year and I have "roots" nearly down to my ears. WTH? Can I ever hope to reclaim my former crown and glory?

OMG, YES! I had fine straight hair, and after my first pregnancy my hair turned wavy also...now it looks like a terribly-done washboard perm. I HATE IT!

My hair got much thicker, and stayed that way. My child is 2.5 years old, and I still have the best hair of my life! (It's the one thing I can gloat about. I also got crazy stretch marks.)

Mine became really smoothe but turned a copper red with my first pregnancy. Gross. With my second it returned to it's light brown color and full bodied texture. About four years after my youngest was born my hair became curly. It's like a spiral perm in the back and sides and straight in the front. It took the right cut and products to get it to look good. I found Lush's coconut Curly Wurly Shampoo, American Dream Conditioner and Cibu's Spring Roll Shaping creme. I also either air dry or use a Conair Curl Fusion Dryer.

Mine got thicker and wavy. My hairdresser said she always knows when her customers are pregnant, even before they tell her.

yes, my once thick, full hair is now fine, spare, nearly bald.
i'm waiting for it to grow back.

I totally agree! I could have written this post.

I wish. I have kinky, curly hair, and my mother told me it would relax after I had children. It didn't.

mine got thicker, however, my hair has changed a lot over the years. it was curly as a toddler, then went straight up until puberty when it got super curly (ringlets) then at about 20 it turned just wavy and has been wavy/frizzy since. i have to blow dry it straight or put in curlers...its completely in between.

my formerly straight hair is now a kinky, wavy, hot mess. i hate it. DS is 15 months old and it's still that way. i invest in aveda hair care products and that seems to help a little.

I didn't notice a change at the time, but now that the baby has been here for a few months I have started shedding hair like CRAZY!

This will probably stop soon. It's one way your body deals with all the stress the pregnancy put on your body. (I had to ask my Dr. about the same thing)

My beautiful curls have become a wavy frizzy mess. If I don't use the right products, it's kind of wavy and not curly enough and just looks messy. I feel as if my daughter stole all my curls--literally. She has all the beautiful curls I once had before pregnancy. At least someone gets it and she does look gorgeous with it.

My once shiny, easily managed fine hair is now much harder to handle, thicker and really wavy, but just not on top. That part is still straight. If it weren't for that, I'd love the change.
