We have no music talent, but I want to expose my child to music, at least learn how to read music sheet and notes before I pay tutor service. Where are the resources, app or website or book? It would be nice that he can play music on piano and guitar one day.

I taught my children to play piano from some primer level books. I already know how to play piano and read music. If I didn't, I would have started them with a music teacher from the beginning. They now take lessons from a teacher for their instruments, piano and violin and trumpet.

Yousician is a good and fun option if you’re not willing to do music lessons.

There’s also a lesson book “I Can Read Music” but think it might be hard to do on your own ... but there are YouTube lessons on it you could check out.

For just general music appreciation, there’s SQUILT. AND THE Maestro Classics cds are great for elementary kids.

Classical conversations curriculum has several weeks dedicated to music instruction including types, instruments, composers. Students learn slide whistle and recorder. Some groups also bring in music teachers for afternoon special classes. Much of the early curriculum is based on memorization using music.

I am in the same situation. I always wish someone had taught me music. My daughter wants to learn piano and guitar. I settled on Prodigies and am very happy with it. I use it with a child sized Casio keyboard. My daughter has been learning very quickly! She asks for her music lesson first thing every morning.

Word of Life Christian Academy has a Hybrid program in Springfield. They teach classical guitar there.

I am having difficulty teaching elementary students to sing on pitch. They want to sing but I don’t know where to get the resources I need to make it happen.
