Crossway Community Montessori Shut Down?

Anonymous
A friend of mine said her preschool was shut down today, but they don't know why. All they know is they are looking for a new school. Did anyone hear about this and what happened to close down a place like Crossway?

I can think of a lot of things that should close Crossway down. Looks like two kids left school and walked home, and the school did not report and document it like they should.

They made children nap outside next to propane heaters? WTAF? No wonder the kids decided to go home.

It continues to amaze me how adults throw common sense out the window in the name of "COVID safety".

If your kid is an eloper, don't send them to an outdoor school. I do think it is strange they are sleeping outside, but, I don't have a kid there, so maybe it had been working well.

"Specialist observed no evidence of 1% or nonfat milk. Specialist observed whole milk."

I can not believe this is something that is noted in an inspection report.

It is a requirement that children 2 and over be offered lowfat milk. So it is a licensing violation.

Haha, I’m sure you’re joking. Seems like not letting the kids leave school is the most basic function a school should serve. I don’t think there is a certain type of kid that is an “eloper” probably just sounded fun at the moment so they did it, that’s what 5 year olds do. Up to the adults to ensure they are safe.

They had the first charter school and got shut down. They also had a housing program that got shut down. Lots of accusations over the years.

It’s not an outdoor school.

I can say with certainty that some parents sent their kids there BECAUSE everything was supposed to be outside, although I wasn’t aware of the napping situation. But their extensive Covid precautions was a big selling point in this community.

They should have done their homework on the history of this place and used common sense that napping in the freezing cold is miserable and portable heaters is unsafe. They may have changed to outdoor but they were never an outdoor school.

Or, they could have been cold or not happy. Kids don’t elope except if they have sn or some thing.
