The BBC reported that the FBI had obtained a warrant on Oct. 15 from the highly secretive Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court allowing investigators access to bank records and other documents about potential payments and money transfers related to Russia. One of McClatchy’s sources confirmed the report.

Susan Hennessey, a former attorney for the National Security Agency who is now a fellow at the Brookings Institution, said she had no knowledge that a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrant had been issued. However, she stressed that such warrants are issued only if investigators can demonstrate “probable cause” that a crime has been committed and the information in Steele’s dossier couldn’t have met that test.

“If, in fact, law enforcement has obtained a FISA warrant, that is an indication that additional evidence exists outside of the dossier,” she said.

Wait, no! Don't tell me - the IC might know more than they want to reveal? That cannot be!

So is someone able to determine/verify if a FISA warrant has been issued?

No. It is a closed (secret) proceeding. Even a person who is the subject of a FISA warrant cannot reveal this.

I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean. Why would they fire him?

I don't know anything about this news organization, so FWIW, ex kgb chief linked to former MI6 spy was found dead in the back of a Lexus:

Also whatever happened to that Christopher Steele guy? No news there either.

In fear for his life, he went into hiding.

Yeah, like a month ago, BUT... Although his disappearing into thin air is quite understandable but at least a statement or something... And all the news agencies just abruptly dropped it - incredible.

Louise Mensch was on Stephanie Ruhle's show on MSNBC this morning at 9 am I didn't catch it. I hope this segment is uploaded to youtube or the MSNBC site later. If it is, I'm sure she will tweet about it.

I know she talked about Jeff Sessions, and she probably discussed his ties to Carter Page and Alfa Bank. She definitely thinks Sessions is not independent when it comes to Russia / Trump.

This isn't really about the election hacking, but it is about Putin and Trump, in The Economist:

What is the best way to make a stink about this? Why has it gone silent? This, more than any of his horrible nominees, more than his moronic policies, is more important. We are watching a slow motion coup and the Republicans are complicit in it.

What's the best way to bring the sunshine?

I thought there were both house and senate investigations going on, or was that wishful thinking?

That is THE BIG Question. MSM definitely moved on to bathrobes and Nordstrom so it looks like the only ones who can possibly shed some light are David Corn (and one or two others) and possibly some foreign respected sources (British? German?)

Mad proves to Mother Jones in general - they are the only ones who are consistently covering the big story from the very beginning (no wonder Steele came to them in the first place). Btw, they got the Magazine of the year award the other day beating all the others - very deserved, IMHO.

And FBI, but... no word for months. And quite frankly I think they need to audit the election.
