My Lottery Dream Home on TLC

Does anyone else watch this? Firstly, I hate the host David. His neck and hand tattoos are awful, but I also hate his personality. Also, I need an intervention. I keep watching, waiting for this show to become what I want it to be, but it never is. I want to see people winning $50 million and buying a $10 million home in Tokyo or Miami or something. But it's people who won $600,000 and want to spend $150,000 on a modest two bedroom home in some podunk town in the middle of nowhere.

I actually like this show and I enjoy his personality though sometimes I think he hams it up too much and then it's cringe.

I agree it would be nicer to see those 50 million wins but at that level no one is going to care about the $1500 TLC offers you to be on that show, and theyd have no reason to want to film. They sometimes get some big numbers but it's rarer. I'm sure the producers wont those big names just as much though

I've watched several episodes. Yes, David's tattoos are annoying. But I love his personality. The very first one I saw was an older couple who inherited $180 million in the Mega Millions lottery and bought an over the top home in California.

I like the show. David Bromstad is cheerful and upbeat. I don't like all the tattoos but I like him and his clothes are creative. If you want to see a bunch of rich, nauseating people shopping for homes and yachts, tune into AWE, A Wealth of Entertainment formerly called "Wealth TV". The people on Lottery Dream Home are down to earth, every day people who hit it rich off of a scratch off or lottery ticket.

David Bromsted (sp?) has mental issues for sure. He appears to have lost a ton of weight as well.

I find David campy, his tattoos distracting and the show unbelievably addictive. Some of the people they have on though. Whoa, not the sharpest tools in the shed, but these are the kind of folks who play the lottery.

Maybe in a past life I was European, but I find his cheerful and upbeat personality to be Too Much.

I love David. He recently bought a home (the was a MLDH episode about his home search) and he's currently renovating it and showing updates on his Insta. I LOVE how he goes all-out for holidays. I don't care about his tattoos. His body, his choice.

I also love that MLDH is about everyday people. OP, what you want is a different show. If you want rich people buying expensive homes, watch Selling Sunset or Million Dollar Listing.

I like that often people are buying "normal" homes. often it is a dream for them. Refreshing to see a family get excited about laminate kitchen counters and having two full baths. Breath of fresh air from those home buying shows when wife complains about not having double vanities and husband wants a man cave with theater seating.

I love this show because they are buying regular homes and clearly aren’t going on the Bachelor next season.

And I love that David is so excited for them to get their dream maple cabinets and 2,000 sq ft house

That's exactly how I feel. Most of the people on HGTV shows seem to be absolute pills with personality disorders who nit-pick and complain about every house they see, argue between the couple, and whine if the house has a fireplace because they dont want one. Those shows made me realize how many people are miserable in this world.

Contrast that to MLDH where the people seem so happy and grateful to be buying a $150,000 home. And honestly, every single person I've seen on that show has seemed to be shockingly lovely- theyre always doing stuff like inviting David to dinner and stuff. Strangely nice people. It's actually confirmed my belief in karma because I swear I have never seen such sweethearts on any HGTV show or reality show period, and theyre such a contrast to the malcontent nightmares that make up most episodes of House Hunters

Oh honey, no. They're not inviting David to dinner. TLC pays for them to go out to discuss their options.

Babe, we all know that. I'm talking about scenes where they specifically invite David to dinner after filming, NOT the awkward "drinking a water in the coffee shop" scenes. Duh!
