Philadelphia breaks all time murder rate

And the years isn't even over yet 513 people have been murdered to date. You can see this pattern in all democrat run cities. At what point do citizens say enough is enough, these policies aren't working. Letting repeat violent offenders back out to commit yet more crimes with little or no bail puts ALL voters at risk.

And all the folks 18 months ago who screamed abolish/defund the police act like it never happened.

But what I don’t understand is given that the vast majority of the victims are poor POC why isn’t there any outrage amongst that community. The democrats assume they’ll always have the poor POC vote and yet fail that constituency repeatedly. Why the blond loyalty to a party machine that is so condescending don dismissive of their needs?

It's not about democrat run cities. It's about cities.

However, there is a HUGE increase in violent crime across the nation right now, and much of it is tied to firearms. There are a bunch of theories about why this is happening, but we do need to hold our elected leaders accountable and they need to tell us precisely what they are doing to fix it.

There is! But marginalized communities often don't speak up. They often feel it won't do any good, or they are afraid to for other reasons (like immigration status concerns). Politicians don't hear them, so they don't care about them. Even if they pretend that they do.

Except police budgets were not “defunded” in Philly, NYC, or even Minneapolis.

Frankly, I think many cops are refusing to their jobs in an effort to flex power against civilian leadership.

This is such a clueless response. People don’t speak up because they are scared. How would a Republican help solve this? And I never understand the argument of the GOP that city dwellers should vote R because Ds have failed them. How come Rs in failing red rural areas keeping voting for Rs?

They’re scared to vote? Good lord you’re an imbecile.

When everyone can have a gun, what else do you expect? I thought this was what the GOP and NRA wanted - the freedom to settle your own disputes and be able to defend yourself.

Pretty sure none of these murdered acquired their guns legally. So what’s your point again?

It’s clearly time for a “tough on crime” approach in big cities. Crime is out of control.

In addition to more effective gun control, quit making excuses for repeat criminals and keep them behind bars. Darrell Brooks is a perfect example.

It seems like some of the recent murders are not in major cities . . . like Waukesha, Wisconsin (a very Republican area) and Oxford, Michigan. How can Republicans do better at stopping those kinds of murders?

Gee, maybe toughen bail and sentencing guidelines?
