I need some comic relief from other little boy moms. We have decided to go cold turkey this week on the diapers, which means DS has been running around naked for 2 days, which is the only way it's going to work for us. Without a diaper on he is much more aware of his penis and keeps playing with it and making hilarious sound like boing boing while he flicks it. Please tell me this is normal and will eventually subside

Mine isn't as old as yours, but he always tugs the hell out of his in the bathtub. It looks so painful and sometimes he'll even wince, and we'll say "You did it to yourself!!" Looks like we have more to look forward to!

My little boy loves his penis. He played with it so much it got all raw and sore and he'd cry that his penis hurt. We had to put his pajamas on backwards at night so he couldn't get his hands in his pants until it healed. Now, he'll occasionally look at me and say "If I touch my penis too much it will get hurt."

Mine touched his during the 20 week ultrasound. The tech pointed it out and was so embarrassed. My husband was so proud that he started cheering. Now that he's almost 3, he's still pulling on that thing!

How old is your little guy? I waited to potty train my daughter until she was three and the whole thing took a few days because she was ready--I realized I would rather just change some more diapers then go through the whole drama of forcing a kid to potty train. I will be doing the same when my toddler guy gets older i.e. I don't think there needs to be a rush. Now if he is four I can see the drama but it doesn't sound like he is that old. As for the penis-my little one became aware and fascinated by six months-now at 18 months he shows it proudly to me and asks where mine is. Ahhh..

My son is almost 3 and I am in the process now of potty training him. My favorites so far:
Sitting on the toilet and nothing coming out and him saying ITS STUCK!!!
and last night was MOMMY, MY PEEPEE HAS A HOLE IN IT!

My 3.5 year old sometimes pretends it is a firehose and makes "shhhhh" sounds like he's shooting water out of it while he runs around the house "putting out fires."

My 2.5 year old (still in diapers) humps everything in sight. When he's getting bathed or a diaper change, he looks down very fondly and grabs his penis.

This thread is great! I have 2 little boys. Oldest (4.5 yo) definitely fondles himself constantly if he doesn't have underwear/pants on. Little one (2.5 yo) is starting to discover the joy of his penis as well.

I figure - at least they don't take off their pants midday to do it so all is well.

The stories of other posters really made me smile today (which was much needed!!).

My almost 3 yr old year old loves peeing on a tree outside. We told him once that it makes the tree grow so while he pees he says "grown tree, grow tree". Tree peeing is now the highlight of park and backyard playing.

One of our friends DS used to pee on the indoor plastic decorative tree. We have been very clear that this is ONLY for outdoor trees and I keep a close eye on him in hotel lobbies and other people's living room.

My nephew grabs a hold of his and squeezes it so hard that skin comes out from between his fingers. I just think that can't feel good, but he just giggles away. It is hilarious.
