FC Virginia vs. Washington Spirit: Whose parents are more obnoxious?

Have at it, folks. Take that nonsense out of our travel soccer thread.

That's quite difficult--but it appears FCV parents ha e a definite chip.

Both are obnoxious but I'll go with Spirit, Virginia especially. They think that just because they're affiliated with a professional team (currently in next to last place in the league) that makes them the best club around even though the results on the field show otherwise.

It's one thing to be proud; it's another to be delusional.

^You are a FCV parent (or coach) from Ashburn

Lets not forget...this all was started by you^^^^^. The FCV affiliate that went on a public forum and bashed Spirit in some weak attempt to fell superior. Then you got swept by Penn Fusion and have nothing to say.

FCV parents (a small minority) like you are propagandist who cant stand when people call you out on your own BS.

The reality is the kids are where they are. In many instances the kids all have friends on the other side as well as parents. So any Spirit taunting by a FCV parent is likely new to FCV. And why is it so hard to believe that Spirit kids and families are simply happy where they are now?

But my guess is every Spirit player and parent went into this year knowing they would struggle as a whole, especially out of the gate. I don't think the same could be said for FCV players or parents. I'm pretty sure FCV parents had higher expectations for the results column.

I'm pretty sure FCV will start to click in time and Spirit will develop and grow on their own. The only thing that matters is if your kid is in a good situation for their development.

I'm still confused - how is posting game results bashing a team/club?

By your logic, the only time results should posted is if there was a tie; otherwise, you always "bashing" the team that lost. That's just an asinine position. Given the age of the players involved and the level they're playing out, anybody should be able to post the results of the DA (and ECNL) games without fear that some overly-sensitive parent is going to get pissed off when it's made public that the team they've built their ego around got beat.

If anyone is too much of a soccer snowflake to handle the reposting of soccer scores on this website (when they're already posted on the league's website), then maybe a life involving competitive sports is not the right choice for your family.

What was the point of the post? Was it to praise? Was it to answer a question that somebody asked?

FCV as a club is currently 4-8. Is this really where anyone thought that the combined forces of FCV and mighty Loudoun would be right now?

The point was to defend your right, and everyone else's right to say that FCV is 4-8. And that Spirit-Va is 2-6-2; and that Spirit-MD is 3-8-1; and that VDA is 0-8-4. Posting facts, even if unimpressive, should not be characterized as "bashing."

The reason it was posted, without a doubt, was to talk smack about how great FCV is in relation to Spirit and or VDA. Then the following week comes and FCV was completely swept as a club, to include their darling U16/17's who were shockingly embarrassed...yet not a single word from the OP. Why didn't the OP post those scores? I don't have a problem with FCV, I have a problem with the OP not being able to look in the mirror and face himself/herself when the rabbit has the gun.

You know why you post scores on a public forum? Its because your self worth is tied to your child's success. So, to make you happy, FCV is the best DA club in DC area and your child is a rockstar...therefore..you are a rockstar.

Perhaps if the above was the original post the point would be valid.

BS. There's no rule that if someone wants to post the game results of one club, that they have to post the results of every other club that played the same weekend. Again, if you get too triggered when someone posts the scores of your kid's loss, then either get a therapist or stop your kid from playing a sport where they keep score.

And unlike the butthurt Spirit parent who lied about how FCV performed and became obsessive about finding about who was the poster's kid, no FCV parent complained when their poor performance against Penn Fusion was reported on this board.
