Pediatric Village Closing?

Anonymous
Anyone know the backstory. I think it was the worse run practices in the city but still like the doctors (most of them anyway). I have been able to reach anyone there to get details.

So glad you posted. DS has been a patient there for over 10 years and I only found out about the practice closing here on DCUM. I don't know that they even tried to inform their patients, and I know how terrible they are with paperwork etc.. Must start trying to get records ASAP.

Same here. I just tried calling so I can fax over the Request for Transfer of Medical Records and got not answer. I have a bad feeling about this.

The form is on their website along with information on how to process the request. Punch line is that you need to get the request to them before July 15th and it will cost $35. Below is a link to the website:

Ugh... We started out there when we moved to DC 4 years ago. It was AWFUL. I am not surprised they are closing.

Dr. Edmonds is retiring and practice is closing because of it. That's what I was told when there on Wednesday.

But why didn't they give their few loyal patients and families plenty of warning, especially at a time when camp and school forms are due.

We have been with PV since 2006. We didn't even get the letter. We found out by going to the website for an unrelated reason. Boy, what a shock.

I say good riddance. While Dr. Edmonds herself was good, everyone else there had no business dealing with children, let alone medically treating them-they screwed up DC's vaccinations (giving the same one twice to one child and not at all to another), evaluating height and weight, eye testing, charged us for things they did not even do or screwed up, bullied children when administering shots etc, office was always dirty and staff was always rude. We only stayed until we could change our insurance at the end of year, but are still dealing with the fallout straightening out DC1 and DC2's records. Awful.

Wow. We saw Dr. Hayes there in 2009-11. She has her own concierge practice in DC now. We loved her but the office was terrible. The wait times!

Leaving Pediatric Village and switching to a competent practice was one of the best parenting moves I ever made. The level of incompetence and disorganization there were legendary.

Does anyone know which practice Dr. Koomson is going to?

Any ideas on how I can get my medical records? I just got a letter in the mail this evening with the news that Pediatric Village was closing and that after July 15th (yesterday) copies of medical records would be $75.00 (instead of $15). The form on the website can be faxed but must include payment but there is no place to put credit card information. I'm considering just letting the records go and asking the schools for a copy of what I gave them when the kids started K. This whole situation is ridiculous.
