What's the best forum for asking questions of attorneys -- Jobs and Careers or Off Topic? Anyone had better or worse luck with their questions? |
Sometimes I wonder if there should just be a whole "attorneys" section, since every other person on here seems to be an attorney! |
I would love that. |
If it is related to the profession, then jobs and careers. If the issue fits into a forum (family, real estate, relationships, etc) put it there. Otherwise, it goes into off topic. |
2nd this. |
There are a lot of ethical issues to giving legal advice. I would not be comfortable as an attorney with a legal advice forum - either providing advice or seeing advice provided in such a context, anonymously, with the level of unrestrained nastiness here. It's one thing to comment or give a one-off on a post to someone in distress. It's quite another thing to hang out your shingle. |
There are an awful lot of them in the Explicit section. Many showing off their bits. Or bolts. |
I don't think there is a way to get legit free legal advice anywhere but straight from the actual mouth of an attorney. |
Aw even a peppercorn could be a fee so too a promise made and completed in cyberspace. I promise to post "sharksharkshark" in off topic forum... |
You need to pay me for legal advice. |
What attorney would spend billable time responding to random questions for free? |
I think legal q's should go in existing sections. A forum for legal questions is too broad and might present legal issues. |
This entire site is about people giving advice. Most people enjoy sharing what they know. Why would attorneys be any different? |
Because they get paid to give legal advice. Not exactly the same as recommending a brand of diapers. |
SAHMs don't spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to learn how to parent. |
