TJ waitlist

Is every applicant who does not receive an acceptance notice automatically waitlisted? Or do some students who go through the testing process actually get rejected / told "no offer"?

login into the application portal, to see the current status of your student's application - offered, waitlisted, or denied.

My son and all his friends got waitlisted a year ago. None of them ever got in. I'm not sure what the point is of having such a large waitlist.

TJ has a long waitlist. I think very few from the waitlist are offered admission. it just serves to give false hope. These kids can still apply to TJ in sophomore year. The admissions just opened up this month. I believe the application deadline is by end of next month. The information is on TJ website.

Is this a complete list of all applicants from both FCPS public and private schools? Notice private school, Nysmith, listed but no other privates? I suppose it’s possible no one from the other privates applied. Does anyone know? Thanks!

No, I think this is just a partial list of middle schools.

Go to page one of this thread.

Some applicants are simply rejected / told “no offer.”

Thank you for posting this! What is TS in the "offered" field?

It means Too Small to list (under 10 students). The number is so small that the few students are identifiable so they don't list the number.

Silly question: since the list is for class of 2025, do I understand correctly that this is the pool of kids who applied in 2021? How does this math work? When will this year's numbers be available, i.e. kids who applied this year?

I think the information for the class of 2028 will be released this summer or fall by FCPS in summary form. This detailed list is from FCAG.
