WW pretty much captures it in this clip about Beyoncé and her documentary.

is that why she never does interviews?

Yes.

Interesting. Come to think of it, I dont really know what her personality is like. She's one of those larger then life figures.

ugh the part she said she raised him and her kids. rolling eyes forever.

The other black girls in the song sang better. Miley also sounded better on 2 Most Wanted.

It’s the same thing in Destiny’s Child and when Jennifer Hudson out sang her and won the Oscar .

Kelly Rowland was a far better singer and dancer than Beyonce and is naturally in shape (without lipo!) But her mic was lowered at the Superbowl.

Beyoncé was a product of a greedy stage mom and dad and passing the brown paper bag test. Elder black people know what I mean by paper bag test and colorism.

Dolly loved it.

Dolly loves everything and every one.

You never hear a critical word from dolly about anyone.

Except Jolene.

Lol this last line - love it.

Anonymous wrote:The sharp drop in her song quality is due to her firing her father as her manager and only hiring young, inexperienced songwriters. Her first four albums are all classic bodies of work that can be comfortably played around children. Her father vetoed anything too raunchy or explicit from being recorded. When he left, her lyrics became uncharacteristically vulgar and over-the-top sexual. Maybe as a rebellious phase, maybe to appeal to a younger generation. Who knows.

But we do know she has a habit of asking for songwriting credit for songs she didn't write, which major songwriters now balk at due to streaming payments for songwriters being lower than what they'd get during the CD era. So only inexperienced writers looking for exposure work on her projects, oftentimes split up into 4-5 writers for a single song. If each writer is only getting 20% publishing, it doesn't look so bad if Beyonce also gets 20%. This also puts the songwriters into a weaker negotiation position, as their 20% contribution can be easily swapped out for another writer's. The quality of her last few albums reflects this.

Interesting. I was a huge B fan but haven't been interesting in a lot of her recent records. I like that she's experimenting but it doesn't feel very authentic

At least that cover is well arranged and has other good vocalists on the track. The Jolene cover is awful.

People saying if you don’t like it, don’t listen, miss the point. First of all - free speech y’all. People are free to express opinions about Beyoncé and the downhill slide of black music. Second, pop culture is noticed by kids. Beyoncé pretends to be a feminist but dresses like a ho and sings lyrics that would embarrass a trucker. Her dance style is x-rated and shouldn’t be on TV. This crap belongs in dive bars and other adult venues. But don’t claim she’s some feminist icon and role model. That’s just marketing for gullible people! They’re targeting the pre-teens. Shame on them.

I read somewhere that quite a few artists demand writing credit, and songwriters have had enough.

She’s so awful in every respect I can’t believe anyone considers her great. It’s mind boggling to me.

She's so vulgar and so ridiculously mediocre. She can't dance, can't write, can't play an instrument, and she over-sings. Why is this 40-something washed up singer still forced down our throats? It's comical how fake her hype is.
